    Greetings and good news (hopefully),

I know a bunch of you have been begging for an update to the *.14 firmware that has been out forever for the 54GX2. I noticed in another thread today that someone mentioned there was a beta version of the firmware, that was *.15 - so I got with a Linksys online chat rep and the following conversation occurred.

Well, this evening I received this email:

Sure enough the file is attached and I am sharing it with you guys =) The only issue that I am not happy with is there is no version info along with the software so that I can read their changes. I guess I'll just have to see for myself. This is the USA version of the firmware.

PS. I am unable to attach the file to this post because the limit enforced for a zip file is like 30k (which is stupid btw admins). When unzipped it will be in the familiar *.bix format that needs to be renamed to *.bin before using on the router. For instructions on how to upgrade the firmware of your router, please see 65 of your user manual or the online version.

I am still waiting to hear from a follow up email that I sent asking for the firmware information (nfo) file for this update. They have had to forward it a couple times to try to get it to the right people that have it. The only obvious changes so far, in the administration pages, is that you are able to block websites by url and keyword. Looks like this was more of a backend update than a "add more features". I never had a problem with stability, but hopefully this update will help those out there that have been suffering from that.
