Better timekeeping with Tomato using new ntpc

    Hi all,

    I have no idea if this will interest anyone else other than me. I have updated ntpc to allow small incremental updates to the system time with a new executable I named 'ntpstep'. If you then run this every hour or so in Scheduled Tasks, then when the real ntpc runs, the corrections will be very small. I have a sample SYSLOG in the README file where I achieved <1 second corrections per day. And since the results in the SYSLOG appear consistent, another minor tweak may be necessary...

    I mainly did this to see if I could do it. And also I think keeping better time without pounding on the public NTP servers as often is a "good thing" :)
