Better USB adapter than the WUSB54G v4?

I have a home WLAN on a WRT54GS running firmware 4.50.6 with the Linksys HGA7T antennas. I have a few wireless devices connected and they all get decent reception except for a PC with a WUSB54G v4. It gets low to medium reception and frequently loses/regains it's connection. I'm using the latest drivers (v2) from Linksys and using Windows XP to handle the connectivity (it was worse with the Linksys utility).

I'm not thrilled with the performance of the WUSB54G. Are there better .11g adapters out there that support WPA-TKIP? The WUSB54G is the only Linksys adapter that I'm using. Would switching to one of the alternative firmwares that allow boosting the radio power of the WRT54GS do anything to improve the connection?

    thanks in advance....

I've got wub54g and a wag54g, and no problem with it. have you try to change the place of the router? At home it greatly improve the things for me ( a desktop and a ntebook both in wireless in a small house)

I can't change the location of the adapter or the router. I ended up yanking the WUSB54G and using a SMC bridge (SMC2870W) instead. It consistantly gets a 70% or better signal and is trivial to setup. I originally bought a pair of SMC2870W's for my Tivo's. They worked great with the Tivo's so I figure why not with my PC.
