how to block a bittorrent service?
i'm use a dd-wrt v22 firmware.
in the access restrictions tab, choose an IP range or specific PC for blocking this traffic from, and create the rule.
how to create the rule?
on access restrictions tab, type a policy name, click save.
Return to that policy. Choose PC/IP range (edit PCs button). Save again.
Return to that policy. In blocked services section, choose the L7 protocols that you want to block for those PC's/IPs.
That should do it.
Got it working well:
As first rule, specify your own PC as "everything always allowed" with IP and MAC in "List of PCs".
Then place a rule denying everything to all users as rule No.10 where you specify the whole network in spite of the router adress in "List of PCs" (as the last rule, because it is ececuted first)
Then, between these rules, place rules for the specific PCs, (see "List of PCs", where you specify MAC and IP)
where you allow internet access and deny the supposed services as L7- protokoll in "blocked services".
At me, it works perfectly, but I`m using fixed IPs within the whole network, and I have a Dlink device running as "moreless intelligent switch", which only allows listed MACs to access the network (the gateway).
