yeah I just flashed the satori 4.0 firmware... I'm pretty clueless about some of this stuff. my bud told me this could increase my output. he lives across the street and can pick up my wireless router sometimes. I was wondering how I could boost the output and how much would you guys recommend? I've been messing with router settings through my web browser and I don't see any options for boosting my output. this firmware didn't come with a downloadable manual. we live in the straight up sticks and I am almost positive that no one else has a wireless router nearby. we just got high speed satelite connection here at my house a few days ago

If you want a REAL improvement in range, then spend a few minutes with aluminum foil building a reflector. See here http://www.freeantennas.com/

Increasing transmit power is largely useless in WiFi. It improves the number of bars you see in a client utility, but does NOTHING to improve the transmitter that goes back the other way, get it? Much like the old days when people would put linear amps on CB radios. Sure you could be HEARD for miles further, but no one could talk back to you so what good is that?

Build a reflector, you will see a noticable *real* improvement.

Also, consider using HyperWRT or DD-WRT firmware. Satori is pretty ancient by now.
