What are the options to boost power of my WRT54G to cover deadspots in my house?

Has anyone used the Wireless G Range Expander? Is it any good?

Has anyone compared the WRT54G to the WRT54GX? Is there a significant improvement?

    TIA for any responses.

I have sveasoft satori, tried increasing Xmit, didn't make a diff. Any advice on using Satori to boost signal?

Best way is either to purchase:

    1. repeator (linksys WRE54G), and/or
    2. higher gain antennae (HGA7T)

There are other antennae but these will work fine.

the antenna a small power boost and a small fan have been my best mods to my WRT54G and i get about 1/4 miles 1320 ft through trees (not a reliable sig though)
i run at 50 mw which should be great you only need to go higher for loooong p2p links

The problem with boosting the transmit power on the router is that your wireless card still uses the same amount of power to send data BACK to the router. So you also need to get a better antenna for your wireless card, if available.

If not, go buy another WRT54G, put Sveasoft Satori firmware on it, and set it up with WDS (there's a sticky in that forum for how to do this).
