Bridging to a WRT54G

    Current setup:

    Room 1:
Linksys ADSL2MUE ADSl modem connected to phone line
    Linksys WRT54G wireless router
Desktop PC One with wired ethernet card connected to a WRT54G port

    Room 2:
Dell laptop with built-in wireless card

    Setup I'm looking for:

    Room 1:
Linksys ADSL2MUE ADSl modem connected to phone line
    - with attached wireless hardware

    Room 2:
Dell laptop with built-in wireless card

    Room 3:
Desktop PC with wired ethernet card
Rackmount server with wired ethernet card
    - with attached wireless hardware

So I'm looking to move the Desktop PC from Room 1 to Room 3, and add the Rackmount server to Room 3. Both these machines will act as servers for the laptop.

    1. Can I achieve this with a WAP54G wireless access point connected to the modem in Room 1, and my WRT54G connected by cable to the desktop and rackmount machines in Room 3?

    2. Can I achieve this with one WRT54G router connected to the modem in Room 1, and another WRT54G connected by cable to the desktop and rackmount machines in Room 3?

    3. Will either of the above options work with Linksys firmware?

    4. Will I still be able to use WPA encryption?

    1. Which wouldn't leave me enough ports to plug the two PCs into, or use WPA from the look of it.

    2. Yeah, I'd read through the FAQ at Linksys before posting. This talks about physically connecting the two routers with an ethernet cable (unless I'm reading it wrong), and I'm after a wireless connection between two rooms.

Thanks for your help though. I'll check out the links board.

Oh sorry. I misread your Q2. You can't connect 2 WRT54G wirelessly unless you use custom firmware with WDS added to both units.
