FYI, UPnP still crashes and does't get restarted until a manual reboot.

    Hi

I'm late for this version but just a word of the 10/21/05 that I think not stable, since 4 days I add options one by one to be sure and router (client router mode) work fine until....... I had AP Watchdog !
4 hours and no access to internet for my dreambox connected to it.

So I can now change to this one without AP watchdog to start :)

uPnP does appear to add ports, but crashes. In fact, it seems weird that uPnP does not return the same entries that is present on the web interface (WinXP builtin "Internet Connection").

BTW can you add an option to remove the port mappings through the web interface? I can disable it but I cannot clear the table due to the Javascript restrictions on port numbers. In fact, it will be better if a dynamic table is used instead of the current Add / Remove or static no of port forwarding entries.

For example those used on Dlink / Thompson routers.

    Re: kaid

i don't think the kaistation software has been updated. i know the windows client has but not what's necessary for the WRT54G(s).

    Hello,

Not sure if this has been reported against earlier releases, but it seems httpd doesn't start after boot. I first noticed this after manually pressing the "Reboot router" button in the UI. However, since I've also had problems with dhcp (basically it just seems to stop working after about a day or two) I added a cron job to reboot the router every morning at 05:45. After this automatic reboot it's not possible to access the router UI unless I telnet to it and manually start the httpd again.

Another problem I discovered was when installing the new firmware (upgrading from 2005-10-24 to 2005-10-25). I usually start by restoring factory defaults, upgrade the firmware and then restore factory defaults again. However, this time I thought I might skip the last step since there was an option in the UI to automatically reset to factory default after upgrading the firmware. This caused my router to stop responding completely. I got the "Upgrade succesfull" message, but after 15 minutes the power LED was still blinking so I power cycled it. Didn't help, but the 30s reset helped.

Besides these small flaws it's a great firmware, keep up the good work! :thumb:

    Cheers!

I had same experiences with the last few (at least 3) of the daily releases about the power LED keeps blinking for a long time after the flash. I also did 30sec reset to recover. I'm using WRT54GS v3.0 and flashed std version.

    Thx!

I'm not sure if this fix was supposed to apply to SSH as well, but there is still a problem with it activating properly when first enabled from the GUI. HTTPS is launched instead. After a reboot, dropbear will be runnning but so will HTTPS, and there doesn't seem to be a way to disable HTTPS.

Also, a quick note on the GUI situation. I guess the old GUI's are out-of-stlye; the new set from Guilty Spark I admit are fantastic (love the cyan), it's just a shame that the others have been so neglected. The Brainslayer GUI is practically unusable since there are still so many text and field alignment errors and problems with the save and cancel buttons covering text or fields, and while quickly looking through the others like Xirian I see there are text alignment issues too.

I guess it's no bother since I'll be happy to use the new GUIs from here on out, but I would have liked to see the same kind of treatment for at least the Brainslayer GUI. I really like the way the menus/submenus were positioned on the left in a column as opposed to the top in a row. Also, because of this layout, placing the save/cancel/reboot router buttons at the top left above the menu as opposed to the bottom of every page was also a better design decision.

Guilty Spark, any chance of seeing a version of your GUI with a vertically designed menu, a la Brainslayer-style? :)

    Cheers,
    skip

    All

I am not the moderator of the forum but as an avid user of these forums I would love to see this thread kept for BUG reports only

We all love the GUI, love the features, etc, etc - use the wishlist thread or a praise thread.

I for one look to see what problems others are seeing and come to rely on this thread
