Buying a router, Which one?

I am going to buy a router and am thinking of the WRT54GS version 4. We live in the country and have several buildings up to 600 feet apart that need wireless access. So my question is, which brand can have the transmit power turned up the highest? No, the FCC does not matter out here, and no one is in range that can be bothered. Would be great if it would go a mile! Then I could give some neighbors internet service too. Sveasoft say it gives up to a 900% power boost, but does not say which model/brand works best. Does anyone here know?

they are all very similar in performance. unless you have speed booster wireless PCI cards the GS is not worth the extra money and the WRT54GL is just as good. it is based on the WRT54G v4

make sure if your going for a GS that it not a v5.

Sveasoft talisman has a price of $20 per year for support. without the support you dont get the firmware.

dd-wrt or hyperWRT (thibor) are just a good for boosting wireless signals. and are free.

The WRT54GL is tbh the same as a v4 and in production. The WRT54G v4 would be very hard to find now since it is no longer available as new.
