Can’t access USB stick on AP

I have my main router (RT-N16) and my AP (E3000) wired to the main router. I have enabled file sharing and USB support on both routers. Also both routers have USB sticks attached to them. It shows that both usb sticks are mounted on the routers. In windows 7, I can see and open the usb stick on the main router (N16). For the AP router (E3000), I can see the router in my windows network but I cannot see the usb stick. Windows diagnosis says “file and print resource (xxxx) is online but isn’t responding to connection attempts." (xxxx is the name of the router). Does anyone know how I can resolve this issue? Thanks.

For those who may have this issue in the future, the only way I can access my usb stick drive on the AP on Win7 is through Start->Run and enter the AP IP address (\\xxx.xxx.x.x).
