Can a Tomato router monitor a UPS to find out whether power supplied is by grid or battery, and how much battery life is remaining?

I found an old thread from 2008 on this subject but was hoping for some new information.

I don't have the UPS yet and am open to suggestions.

    Thanks :)

Firstly what is your UPS going to supply? if its a NAS/Server then most will support UPS via USB connections and log the event anyway.

I setup my UPS to notify my NAS (via a UPS Daemon), which will turn off after x mins on battery power, - Also my NAS will broadcast (NUT) to any client, which i have a Client running on my PC called WinNUT which can also identify when the UPS has gone into Battery mode.

check out: http://www.networkupstools.org/ for some info one software for monitoring UPS's

When my UPS goes into battery mode, I know about it since the Audible Alarm sounds like every 10-20 Seconds. so really I dont need to notify anything apart from Critical services, ie my NAS on a RAID5.
