Can I restore old backupfiles to new firmware-versions?

    Hello everybody,

I have installed DD-WRT v23 (10/27/05). Now I want to install the new from 11/24/05. The only reason for this is the new kai-version that is buildt in (as everything else is working fine).

As I am a lazy guy I would not like to do all the coniguration (wds, port- settings, firewall-settings....).

So the question is simple but maybe silly:
Can I use the backuped file of the old firmware to the new one?

    Thanks for your answers.

Btw. Thanks to Brainslayer for the great work

I think the change-over to new config file format happed around 11-08. The old format was no longer compatible

this is the response of issue
271 0000271: BACKUP: After restoring from backup cant acces Router Web interface

cross versioning backup and restoring works only at your own risk

I guess if I have to do the settings manualy I will wait for the final 23 version.
