Can I use my WAG200G as a AP with a virgin cable modem

I have vigin cable modem and bought the WAG200G by accident thinking it had a WAN port. Is it possible to use the WAG200G as a AP by connecting the virgin cable moden ethernet port to one of the WAG200G ethernet ports?

    Thanking you in advance!

I have the same issue, that i just switched to cable, and was wondering if it was at all possible to us the WAG200G as a wireless router, without DSL.

Sadly I am no good with anything other than html code, so hacking the firmware would probably make me suicidal.

I have an ethernet router, and an ethernet hub, but i prefer not having wires across the floor for laptops in the livingroom.

    Thank you,

If you have an Ethernet router, or a modem that acts as a router, you should be able to use a WAG200G as an access point, but I do not see any prospect of using it as a router. Virgin cable modems will only communicate with one device that is given the WAN IP address. Routers such as the Broadcom chipset WRT54GL create a dedicated WAN port (vlan1), I do not think the hardware switch used on Ti AR7 routers such WAG200G have this ability.
