Can I use the driver from ver 4 on my ver 2 WMP54G?

I just bought a WMP54G V2 (I guess it's ver 2 as it is the larger style board). It came with version 1.2 of the wireless network monitor. I downloaded version 4 and it seems to work fine although I am still using the driver from version 1.2. Can I use the new driver? Are there any benefits or negatives from using it?

    Yes and No.

V.4 uses Ralink driver and presumably Ralink wireless chipset, while V.2 uses Broadcom, so they are probably not compatible.

Having said that, V.4 driver download also includes the last Broadcom driver (version 3.30.15), so it is very likely that it is the V.2 driver that will be installed when you run setup and Windows identifies your V.2 adapter.
