When I browse my files with Windows Explorer, nor files nor folders are truncated tot 8 chars.
Is it the windows 8 character filename that you see (something like docume~2.doc) or are only the first 8 chars visible (like document.doc) or something else?

mine does!! but I've read it's a hit and miss with this things, some work great and some have problems. charac. names, hard drive not reconized, can't access thru web, and so on. I had a small glitch when I first bought one but worked it out , unslung it now it works GREAT 2 months or so now with no problems
