Can Tomato support an additional USB WIFI adapter?

I have a WNR3500Lv2 and want to connect a WIFI adapter to the USB. Has anyone done this? If so, can you recommend a particular adapter/driver?
Also, has anyone ever compiled other wireless drivers in Tomato?
    Thanks.

Its certainly possible, since at least one model has a WiFi radio (I think it's 5Ghz) implemented, internally, as a USB device. However, as I recall, Tomato support for that radio is kind of iffy. For most it works fine but there are reports of problems with the USB device.

You would certainly need to purchase hardware that has open source drivers, then work through compiling the drivers for Tomato and all that that entails...

I asked for this long time ago, but of course it's a "nice to have" only feature.
If available I would use it to have wireless client + AP on the very same device (both on 2.4GHz as I'm based in Europe) in scenarios where currently to achieve the same I need two distinct devices.

rtl8187 appears to be a popular chip in case somebody is willing to look into this.
