Okay here's the situation I have. Two days ago my wireless connection was working perfectly fine. I just got a new desktop and installed a Linksys USB access point. Everything was working great. I had no problem connecting to the internet with either the laptop or PC. Well yesterday the power company disconnected power to my house to install a new meter. The router and modem were on at the time. Now neither computer could connect to the internet and when they did I was only getting 1mb tranfer rate. Not sure if that has anything to do with the power being cut off abruptly or not. But, if I connect directly to my wireless router (Linksys WRT54G) I have no problem. What I don't get is why all the sudden I can wirelessly connect to the router but have very poor transfer rate or complete inability to get going on the internet? If you have any advice or suggestions please help!

    Thanks
    Dave

im not sure that any settings could have just changed, you could always try resetting the router to factory defaults and set it up again
