First tomato is great it's very fast stable and all the standard praises but I have gigantic problem. First, i installed that piece of crap vista and can't use my intel pro/set wireless to manage wifi and the built in WZC in vista is bigger crap than the old one... Basically it works perfectly if I don't use other wlans, when i go out catch a network not my own vista can't log back to tomato and then i have to reset both the laptop and the router... i used thibor before and didn't have such a hassle with all this so i think there is something with tomato, maybe some var somewhere witch needs to be restarted? would cuting down the lease time help?

    Hi lord_T,

did you follow this order ? reset Thibor -> flash upgrade -> reset Tomato ?
This is from the official FAQ:

Should I reset the configuration after installing Tomato?
If you're upgrading from an older version of Tomato, you don't need to perform a reset. Unless indicated in the release notes, Tomato will automatically upgrade older configurations if necessary.

If you upgraded from another firmware, a complete reset is recommended. Go to Administration/Configuration and select "Erase all NVRAM..." after installing Tomato.

    Hope this helps.

i can't disable wzc cos it's the only thing getting me online there are no Intel driven applications for wlan in vista... i'll try reflashing nvram again and maybe it will solve the problem if it doesn't i'll be forced to write a script to reset the wlan every time a client leaves..

have you check to see if you have the latest vista drivers for your adapter?

as vista is new the drivers are being updated regularly.

btw. I trust WZC over linksys's program any day

I can't speak from any Vista experiences but I ALWAYS have problems with M$ wireless-zero-config on EX-Pee.

I'd recommend trying the wireless config utility that came with your hardware and disable the WZC service altogether. On our laptops we put in the Intel drivers and magically everything works and connects the first time.

My wireless connection (w/WZC) is more stable with Tomato than it has ever been. I am running WDS/WPA-PSK[AES]/Mac Filtering and I don't broadcast.

Try deleting your wifi connect in WZC, and reconnect to your router.
