My Storage Link is connected to a Belkin Router. I am attempting to set it up for the first time. My power, Ethernet, and drive 1 lights are all solid green.

When I try to access the Storage Link via the browser at the deflut address
    The request times out.
Then I ping that address, the request times out.

When I use the setup software and it searches it finds nothing.

The IP config on my XP computer is:

    IP Address is
    Subnet mask is

The DHCP router range is –
(How could it have picked a DHCP, when I never set it to I don’t know).

I think somehow I must be on a different segment of the network and that is what is preventing communication. But how do I fix it?

    Any ideas?

what your going to have to do is set your computer address statically somewhere in the (or whatever), and then configure your storage device to use a static address in the 192.168.2.x range or set it to DHCP. then you will have to change your computers address back to the way it was before, then you should be able to communicate to all the devices on the 192.168.2.X network
