    Hello all,

I have a idea, and want to know if its feasible!

I have been looking a easy to use captive portal that will run on a WRT54G. I have found nocatsplash and chillispot. Are there any others that do not require a separate linux server? I don't have a computer to set up.

Is it possible to set up nocatauth or any other captive portal server to run multiple portal pages? Does anyone offer this as a service? If it is possible, it would be nice to have a place to put your portal page and just link to it via the EWRT interface. Each site could have a 5 meg limit and sign up with a very low yearly cost or free with a donate button! Something like a ISP for hotspots.

Just a thought from a motal computer user...

If anyone can give me any insight on other captive portal software packages or how to easily set one up. I would appreciate it.

    Best Regards,
    Kelley

Here are a few more interesting Captive Portal projects you might enjoy checking out:

WiFiDog - Open Source & runs on the WRT54G as a OpenWRT package.
ControlAP - Commercial Product that now supports a number of platforms including the WRT54G & even PDAs!
Radiuz.net - Not a captive portal but an interesting free community based WPA-Enterprise (RADIUS) project.

    Enjoy! ;)

Hi and thanks for the links.

Radiuz.net is a pretty cool idea. I turned it on at home and everything looks good. ControlAP looks good also, and it seems like it dosn't need a server to run. Meaning it can run from the router its self. But, I couldn't get it to install :-( so I gave up for now and went with Radiuz.net.
