Changing from DD-WRT to Tomato on Buffalo WHR G54S (solved)

    I've got a Buffalo WHR G54S, where DD-WRT v23 SP2 (special
edition) is currently installed. Now I'd like to change that to the
    latest Tomato (1.09).
On the related page of the DD-WRT web GUI I have selected the
file "tomato.trx" to be flashed, but DD-WRT responds only with an
    error message: "incorrect image file".

Could it be that the file is indeed corrupt? Or is the .trx file
to be used for TFTP flashing only? If yes, what is the right
    firmware image for me?

    TIA for enlightening me

Use any one of the files that has a .bin file extension. They will all work. After you flash it, be sure to clear the nvram by going to "Administration" - "Configuration" - "Restore Default Configuration" and select the drop down option "Erase all....thorough".

    Thank you.

In the meantime, I found the following in the FAQ:
"You can also try renaming the .TRX file to .BIN to see if that helps."

    Indeed, doing so did help!
