Chart of Tomato supported Routers

    Does a chart or table of such exist? Everything I have searched for refers to hardware from 2008 or so. I know about the legacy Linksys WRT54Gs but what about Asus, Buffalo, and others.

    What is the best bang for the buck fully qualified Tomato capable router?

    I've come across this site which seems to have more info then the rest. However, there are a few models that may need to be updated in the chart

    According to the TomatoUSB chart, the WRT54GS is compatible with K26. The last time I loaded a version of Toastman K26, it crashed often. I apologize for not knowing what revision is was. Has this changed with some of the more recent builds? Is there a benefit of even trying K26 on an WRT54GS.

    I guess I should now rephrase the question. It looks like the ASUS RT-N16 is a great router but it only supports K26, is this correct? I prefer to use Toastman's detailed QOS system, but it appears that the latest efforts in QOS on Toastman are still in the K24 camp.

    What is the best K24 Toastman Tomato capable router? I currently own a 250MHz WRT54GL and a 200MHz WRT54GS, which of these 2 is better.

    The improved QOS is in both K24 and K26. Since most people have moved onto better routers these days, the MIPSR1 K24 builds probably won't be getting much more attention. Upgrading to a better router is the best option, but you can still use your older routers just fine if you wish.

    Toastman, what's your take on the "buffer bloat" issue? Are you planning on addressing it in a future firmware revision?

    I have seen bufferbloat.net and they are using OpenWRT firmware to try to correct the over-use of buffer memory.

    Do you think this is something that can be done in firmware?

    There is no issue. Several developers have messed about with this and part from a few fans, nobody ever noticed any improvements.

    Buffers are there for a reason. Don't believe everything you read.

    I'm surprised at your answer... it sounds like you're simply blowing it off, yet there are many people dedicated to researching this. I have yet to see anyone attempt to debunk it.
    And I would agree with you if one alarmist was making noise about this, but there is quite a lot of research being done on this matter:

    To clarify, I was specifically thinking about Tomato. We've been experimenting with this for about a year now, but so far nothing has been shown to improve the performance significantly. Sometimes, quite the opposite effect is observed.
