Choosing correct firmware version

    Hi all,

I have an European WRT54G v1.1 and have been using firmware v1.42.2
for a long time. The international part of the Linksys website recently changed their strict "only use EU firmware versions" to "you can try US versions if you want" (why?).

Anyway I tried the latest US version, 3.06 something, and was pleasantly
surprised about the extra features. But ... asa I turned on WPA the WLAN led turned off and I couldn't connect wireless anymore. Wired still fine. Tried every setting but to no avail. WEP works fine BTW.

Any suggestions of which version with all the new goodies will work ok with my WRT54G?

    Thanks is advance,

    John

did you reset the router after the upgrade? press the reset button for 30 seconds, for the router to take on board the new settings in a new firmware and reset them to default.
