Is CIFS the only way to get Tomato to log bandwidth statistics to a remote machine? For instance, on my Desktop (which runs Ubuntu) I have a Samba share setup just for this, but I would prefer something more simple and more secure.

Is there any other way to do this?

GreenThumb, could you share how you got your ubuntu/tomato CIFS set up? I can't figure out how to get the CIFS to mount. I have samba installed and that's as far as I can get. I can't get the correct 'mount' command...
