Trying to create a cifs things, but Tomato just says 'mounting...' and never mounts

    v1.25 victek

I've set it to '\\192.168.2.133\Files\Router' (my fileserver, smb share)

On my pc I can navigate to that dir, so it is correct

I've done chmod 777 just to make sure, and it has guest access so shouldn't matter what username/pword I put into the cifs page.

    Any ideas?

(btw I'm pretty noob so explain simply)

Not absolutely sure, but it might be the version you are using had a problem. I had the same trouble a couple weeks ago, I swapped version and it worked immediately. Sometimes the message you mention appears despite everything working fine, no idea why. I haven't bothered to investigate any further though - just thought I'd mention it !

I just upgraded to 1.27 and the same thing happens :(

Maybe I have permissions wrong or something

Does it mount fairly quickly? Or do I have to wait 30seconds+ ?

Does it matter that it has about 750gb space on the cifs drive? Do I need to make it smaller e.g 100mb somehow?

On my router this just takes a couple of seconds, maybe 3 to 6.
    No, that doesn't matter.

Do you have more than one windows machine?
If so, please try to reach the share from another windows machine and report back.

As this is an old thread, this is probably too late for the OP. But it may help someone else.. I had the same issue and what worked for me was.. don't use the full resolved path for the CIFS UNC url

i.e. my share is at \\192.168.0.1\tmp\mnt\nas
If I enter it as above, windows can find it but the CIFS share in tomato never mounts

but if I enter the CIFS UNC url (in tomato) as
    \\192.168.0.1\nas
then it mounts and works properly
