    hey there!

I have searched this whole forum and found nothing.
let me explain my problem to you:

I use a brand new WRT54G v2.2 do access internet via PPPoE. this works pretty fine and seems to be stable. but, I have to use a Cisco VPN Client to connect to the university's network to surf/ download/ whatever.

    it is necessary!

the connection is done via IPSec udp and connects fine. but after some time the client disconnects and says: reason 412: the remote peer is no longer responding. the cisco vpn client is the latest, and I am using the firmware from linksys 3.03.2-de ....

there are certain ports to use and I have all added them and forwarded it to the clients. there is no other possible reason for this error, because if I just connect to internet over the modem, it works fine!

    here's the architecture:

    modem > WRT54G > LAN

    why doesn't it work?

please anybody help me. if you need more information on anything configured or else what, don't hesitate.

    michael
