Connecting a EZXS55W switch to a WRT54G

In order to increase the number of hardwired Ethernet ports available on my WRT54G router, I just added a Linksys EZXS55W 5 port switch.

The cable connecting the two devices obviously connects to one of the four ports on the WRT54G router as it has no uplink port. My question concerns to which port on the EZXS55W switch should the other end of the cable connect?

Should the other end of this cable connect to one of the numbered ports on the switch or should it connect to the "Uplink" port on the switch? I tried both and both seem to provide connectivity to both the internet and between computers. Does this mean it makes no difference?

To my surprise, this is not addressed in the EZXS55W manual.
