My neighbor has a unencrypted/unprotected wireless network with internet access. I'm trying to use Tomato in whatever mode necessary to connect to that network. I don't care if I have to hardwire my computers to my router or not.

But I'm having tremendous problems. I'm a complete noob in regards to how DHCP and subnets work. I'm willing to learn, i want to learn. This is a good chance for me to learn about these things.

Everything I've read online says you can hardwire a PC to your router and then, using Tomato, connect that router wirelessly to another in Wireless Client mode. Am I correct in this thinking? As I understand it, I should be able to put my router in wireless client mode, put my neighbors SSID into that blank, match the channel and connect right? I'm so confused, and I've googled the heck out of this topic. This post is probably very confusing so just let me know and I'll try to clarify to the best of my ability.
