i followed all the instructions at this site to load a ftp program on my ps2. everything boots up and i get the screen that says :

    "ps2 ip
    gateway ip

FTP server initialized on port 21..."

but when i try to connect to my ps2 ip my connection times out. is there something i have to do in my router to allow connections to my ps2?

Possibly to forward port 21 to your PS2...

YOu dn't need to forward any ports for that, i've got that ftp server working...
What is your computers ip? is it in the 192.168.0.x range?
do you have a link light on your router where the PS2 is connected?

I blieve config.dat contains the IP your PS2 gets it should start with 192.168.1.xxx alternatively you can change your internal IP range to be 192.168.0.xxx on the linksys config page in the web admin screen.
