I would like to connect two houses together with wireless, and would appreciate some help. I currently have a WRT54G Router hooked up to my Internet connection. Is there a way to use another router with 3rd party firmware to connect the two? Also there is a laptop with wireless and a desktop wired at the second house? Any suggestions would help...

This worked great. Is there a way to still use the Wireless feature on the remote router, or do i have to add an AP to get wireless on the remote end (2nd house/router) ? running DDWRT v23.

You could go with the difficult route and buy a WRE54G Range Expander.

They are known to be the most difficult to set up and install.
