Connecting with TAP fails the first time

I have TomatoVPN setup to serve on the TAP interface. When I connect remotely, it usually fails to extract the router IP address on the first attempt, and working on the second or third attempt. Does anyone else have this problem, or know a solution?

On the second attempt, everything works since the "Extracted router DHCP address" field shows up.

Is there anything I can do?

    Thanks

I've never had much luck using "route-gateway dhcp". It's a pretty new option, and I don't think they have the kinks out of it yet. Change "dhcp" to the router's LAN address, and I think it should work.

Or, better yet, upgrade to the latest version of OpenVPN and just check the "Direct clients to redirect Internet traffic" box (removing all of your redirect-gateway and route-gateway stuff from the custom configuration).

I didn't realize a new version was out.

    Thanks :)

Whoops. I just realized I said "latest version of OpenVPN", but I meant "latest version of TomatoVPN". That's where the option I mentioned is located.
