Connecting

    ok this is a super noob question but im very new. Can i connect to my friends wireless conncetion thorugh my router or do i need to get a wireless card?

    Assuming you mean your friend's wireless network, you will need a wireless card/adapter.

    do you mean in wds
    (e.g your friendsrouter----(wirelessly)-----your router---yourcomputer)

    my wireless router to his wireless conncetion which would be to his wireless router

    you could if you used your router in client mode. Satori and Alchemy allow for Client mode. you could also try setting up the connection by WDS.

    how would i enable this client mode in alchemy or wds??? sry im really new in wireless networking or networking in general.

    what i want to do is just to connect to my firends connection. Like u would with a wireless laptop, but i want to do it with a router

    Dunno about Satori/Alchemy in Client mode, but you may be out of luck with WDS if the Belkin doesn't support this feature. In any case, WDS between brands are not always compatible with one another.

    in plain english this means that your router might not be compatilble with his

    what you could do instead is just get a wireless repeater and then a adaptor in your comp.

    linksys and otehr makers make these repeaters to help signal strentgh reach farther distances.
