we have a problem with our WRT54GS. We have a 100MBit network in our house. We are connectet with 10 MBit to the internet. I have the WRT54GS and my friend in the next room have the same. We connect to a 100 MBit HP Switch. If we transfer files from one computer to the other (PC - router - HP Switch - router - PC) we have a transfer speed of 1 to 1,5 MB / sec. Without the router we have a transfer speed of 3 to 4 MB / sec.

The HP switch register a 100 MBit Full Duplex Connection to the router. So I think, it is a 100 MBit WAN Port. The integrated Switch has also 100 MBit. So where is the Problem to get the full speed?

I hope, somebody could help us.

does the connection between the 2 computers run over the internet link?

if so, thats no a good choice...

Try connect the hp-switch with the switch-board of the WRT54G and check your 2 lans if they are in one network (e.g. / 24) or if you need to set up routing entries..

    hope this helps
