Tomorrow we'll have to move phone lines and I think I'll need a second wrt54G. I'm using my father's work adsl line (In belgium adsl is too expensive to have 2 lines at home).

Here's how network will be after putting another wrtg:

There's 2 wrt54G that will be connected with wifi (they are too far from each other to have wires. And laptop is far too far from the first wrt54G (the one connected to the modem).

Is this configuration possible for WDS?
If no, is there another solution?

wds would work great. i have a similar setup to you. and it works great. though you will have a 1/2 cut in speeds because of the wds. i am using dd-wrt v23 firmware but dd-wrt prefinal 4 and v 22 june 23 worked great in wds.

True, but that's only for the laptop, and only when it's communicating with a device that is not connected to the WRT the laptop is associated with. More info: here
