conntrack problem with RTSP

    (Using Tomato 1.11 on WRT54GL)

I've been having some problems with RealPlayer video "breaking up". Thought it was probably network congestion but noticed multiple instances of the following message in the log:

    user.info kernel: ip_conntrack_rtsp.c: help_out: ip_conntrack_expect_related failed (-17)

Anyone know what this means and is there anything I can do about it?

    Thanks

PS I've left Conntrack/Netfilter settings as default. Max connections 2048, Tracking/NAT helpers RTSP ticked.

I have no problems here using RealPlayer. My Contrack/Net Filter settings are the default except I have Max Connections set to 4096. Tracking / NAT Helpers are ticked except for FTP.

You might want to check your RealPlayer Connection settings related to Bandwidth.

RealPlayer Connection settings appear to be set OK.

However, I found a couple of other threads discussing this from earlier this year. See here and here

(I should have searched Linksysinfo before asking!)

Could someone with Linux knowledge please explain what is the purpose of ip_conntrack_rtsp ?

    Thanks

It manages connections for RTSP clients such as RealMedia. It's not necessarily a Linux thing, really, that's just how it is presented in this situation. I suspect that the warning is due to your router kinda panicing that it was expecting traffic but it never showed, though I can't say that with anyauthority.
