continual connect/disconnect

    Hi folks,
I have a WAP54G, which has been working fine with a couple of laptops; one an aging toshiba on Win98SE with Linksys WPC54G card and the other, a newish dell D610 with built in wireless. All this linked to ADSL modem and two desktop pc's on Win XPsp2.
Yesterday, while i'm using my dell it drops the wireless connection than reconnects a few seconds later. It continues to do this repeatedly and I cannot use the internet. Reboot fails to stop this behaviour. Check settings, then double check. All as it should be. I drag out my wifes Toshiba, and fire it up, this works fine. I try turning off WPA security, and my Dell decides to play once more. Restart security (WPA PSK) and it stops working again. At this point I see the WLAN card (Dell 1350) utility is reporting 'Key Absent', but checking and re-entering (several times) key doesn't help. WLAN card seems to connect okay, but just wont hold the connection for more than a second or two.
Has anyone else suffered this or know the cure?
    Any help most greatfully received!
    best wishes,
    Damien
