    Good Afternoon All,

I'm in a pickle... My sons birthday is tomorrow, we are having "eighteen" (you read right, "eighteen" - AHHHHH!!!) 8 year old boys here for the party.

It's not just any old party, it's a "Gaming Party"!

We have three game systems setup that need internet access - so I'm told (by the 8 year old). I either need to a) get an access point / proprietary NIC for each or b) figure out where to buy a linksys / cisco router, flash it with whatever (ddwrt, tomato, etc) and create a bridge.

Now, I mention Tomato and DDWRT like I know what I'm talking about BUT I HAVE NO EARTHLY IDEA!

If I jump in the car right now and run to Best Buy, Walmart, Circuit City and buy a Linksys router (I'm reading WRT54GS but I also hear they have many variations), what do I really need?

Next, how hard is "really" to flash one and make into a bridge? Are we talking minutes, hours or days? My wife will have my head if I am messing with it too long (hours / days).

What are the risks? What are the odds of bricking a router?

What open source should I use? Again, router is to become a wireless bridge.

BTW, it will be connecting to a Linksys WRT350N which is running the Linksys / Cisco firmware of 1.03.7 and this particular router is the first version (I bought it in Nov 2006).

Thank you in advance for your assistance!!!

    Rich

You are prolly gonna be better off using DD-WRT.

Hit up their site. http://www.dd-wrt.com and chk out the faq and all should be sorted for you.
