This is the msg I now get after trying to telnet to my WRT45G router :( Earlier this afternoon it was fine but after resetting the router a few times & swapping round the cables its started coming up with Could not open a connection to the host on port 23 (since swapped cables back). My original problem was that I couldnt access the routers web interface even though the router was working fine but I needed to get into the web interface to update the Kai firmware. Im running short of answers and ive been trying to work this out for nearly 8 hours solid so can anyone help? BTW Im running WinXp Pro.

Did you run the passwd command?
There's a chance that this disabled telnet and now you can connect only with ssh.
I know this happens in openwrt.
Try using putty or a similar program.
