I've read posts that describe "cracking" open the WRT54g case. I suppose that the persons with the bricked routers followed the instructions such as the Void Main revival tutorial which describes forcing the case apart with one's thumbs and palms. **Before doing this** remove the two front rubber foot plugs. Under each of these is a small philips screw. Use a jewler's screwdriver to remove the screws. Now you can separate the blue front face from the black case as per Void Main's Revival Guide If you do not remove the screws first, you will crack the board frame where the screw are seated. The screw will then be loose and rattle inside the front foot wells.
