Any pointers before I flash from DD-WRT to HyperWRT? Use the web based flash in DD-WRT and specify a reset? Should I reset the router with the reset button after the flash?

is 1.5C the version to use? mainly just want to not have to reset my router every couple days, and use bittorrent without slowing my internet down to a crawl.

Clear the NVRAM and reboot, then flash and repeat step one again. Hope it works for you! :)

thanks, if it doesn't i have a new WRT54GL waiting. I guess the 1.5C software is preferred?

it worked! I had to do a hard reset with the button.

software says I have an WRT54GS.

bittorrent still slows things down. I specified Low priority in QoS settings also.

It says you have a GS, because 15c uses the GSv3 codebase. The GS codebase is fully compatible with the G/GL (v1-v4) models, simply because the internal archetecture of all 3 models is relatively the same. The main difference between them is that the GS stock firmware supports SpeedBooster (Afterburner) natively, even though the G and GL support it as well, they just aren't available in the linksys stock firmware.
