So I decided to upgrade to DD-WRT V23 SP1 02-21 yesterday as suggested in the IRC chat because my WRT54G V4 would fail to respond via http after a few hours of operation. top showed that httpd was using 97% of cpu time, but even after killing and restarting httpd, it would not respond via http unless i unplugged power and plugged back in.

Whenever I try to apply ANY change with the new firmware (add port forwards, change IPs etc) I get a blank page after I apply settings, and the settings aren't saved. This is also true for the upgrade firmware page! the firmware will not upgrade/downgrade via http or TFTP! I have no idea how to get this thing going again. the router responds to pings, and appears to be functioning just fine, I just can't change anything, including the firmware! I have also made a post over at the dd-wrt forums and am waiting on a response.

    Please help!

I found the solution on the dd-wrt forums thanks to vincentfox3. He suggested using internet explorer instead of firefox to make changes/upgrade via http, and it worked!
