Will you have any problems installing Tomato on top of DD-WRT? Almost certainly not. Many of us have done it. The general rule when switching from one piece of firmware to another is:
    1. Clear the NVRAM. (IP will now be 192.168.1.1 ??)
    2. Install the new firmware
    3. Clear the NVRAM again
    4. Configure to your heart's content
Will you have problems because there are some features available on DD-WRT that aren't available on Tomato? That depends on what you're looking for. Overall, the consensus is that Tomato is both easier to use and more dependable; however it doesn't include everything plus the kitchen sink the way DD-WRT does.
