I observed an apparent fault with DDNS on Tomato Firmware v1.28.7633 .3-Toastman-VLAN-IPT-ND ND Std today and I'm hoping that someone can suggest what may be wrong. My WRT54G is configured as an access point behind an ADSL modem/router. My ADSL service provider issues a new IP address every time my ADSL modem/router reboots. Today I rebooted my ADSL modem/router and confirmed that the IP address did change, however when I looked at the DDNS page on my WRT54G running the tomato firmware it was showing the old public IP address. So I forced an update. It then told me that no change in IP address had occurred - it still showed the old external IP address. So I double checked my external IP address using http://ipcheckit.com/ and http://checkip.dyndns.org:8245/ and they confirmed that the address tomato believed to be current was in fact obsolete. So my question is, when you are using the "external IP address checker" in tomato to set the DDNS address, what is the web page it is using to do that check? If I can manually test it I might be able to work out why it is having an issue. I appreciate any advice anyone can give on this. While I am at it, thanks Toastman and all the others who are involved in developing this firmware - it is a great piece of work!
