Debugging WDS?

    Hey, I've got this setup:

Main AP: Asus RT-N16 with Shibby (Tomato Firmware 1.28.0000 MIPSR2-093 K26 USB AIO)
Repeater: WRT54-GL v1.1 with RAF Victec (ND 1.28-088V Std)

WDS was working in the beginning, but now doesn't. I can connect to the repeater, but cannot go anywhere from there.
I also see the wsd0.1... interfaces in each router.
Security is set to WPA/WPA2 Personal AES as this seemed to work for a short time, frequency at 20 instead of 40Mhz.

Can anyone tell me how to debug this? Should I use different mods/versions? Should I use dd-wrt?
It's frustrating.. Right now I don't really need USB etc, so it would also be an option to go back to a more stable build that would work.. just need to setup this network right now

Would be nice if anyone could give me a hint,
    Thank you,

I have no experience with Victek or Shibby builds (see my sig), but after repacing my old "main" WRT54GL with the RT-N16, WDS would not connect until I switched from WPA2/AES to WPA/AES.

so you have multiple slaves in WDS with the versions in your sig and its working fine?

As of today, main router has been up for 92 days. It's on UPS. Some slave routers are on UPS, others not - that's up to each customer. All the slaves (there are 12 of them) run a "keepalive" script every 10 minutes. Yesterday we had one of our frequent power blips, all non-UPS slaves rebooted and reconnected OK. UPS slaves were unaffected.

As documented by Toastman, the 7483.2 build is known for WDS reliability, which is why I reverted to it from a later build (can't remember which one, it was at least 92 days ago;) )

As previously mentioned, after the upgrade to the RT-N16, I had to replace WPA2 with WPA across the board. Could not connect at all with WPA2.

As always, many thanks to Toastman et al for their outstanding work:)

thanks a lot for your help! I've replaced shibby now with the toastman versions you are using, and for the first client it worked well! (RT-N16 + WRT54GL)
I had a problem with another WRT54GL, not sure why as it is the same version, but I'll debug this on the weekend
at least the main stuff is working, that's pretty nice

    Thanks again!
