    Hi there,

    I currently have a WRT54GL flashed with Tomato 1.25.

Ive recently seen a huge decrease in download speed and have no idea what it is:frown:

I've decided to try going back to Tomato 1.23, and see how that goes, with 1.23 my DL speeds were great.

so my question is: to degrade the router would this be performed like a normal upgrade?

and should I clear NVRAM once update is complete?

    Thanks:thumbup:

Thanks, so I should perform the downgrade like I would a normal upgrade?

And sorry I forgot to include this in my opening post: should the clearing of NVRAM be done both before and after upgrade/downgrade?

    Thanks

yes , you can do what you what update/downgrade doesnt mater....
but first try some of the mods there better than the normal version
try RAF mod for starters... but remember to clean nvram after updates every mod is diffrent , you will have problems if you dont clean nvram

and by the way i think you need to use ND versions
login in the router from telnet or ssh and write "nvram get wl0_corerev" if it gives you a value bigger than 7 USE ND versions

Thanks for you help, but I have no idea what you are talking about lol:redface:

I think I will just go back to 1.23 where everything was working great; Thanks again.

And last question which im not sure has been answered yet: as well as clearing NVRAM after upgrade, should it also be cleared before the upgrade?

    Thanks:)

Also I failed to clear NVRAM after my upgrade to 1.25 from 1.23,

could this be the source of my problem?

and is it too late to do it? i.e could I do it now?

The 1.23 Firmware files don't seem to be on the website anymore.

Any idea where I can find them?

If you wanted to 'degrade' your router, you could try shouting obscenities at it ;)
