Hi All, I have installed DD-WRT prefinal4 onto a Linksys wrt54g ver2 AP. It is connected to a D-Link DFE-916Dx hub. I also have a Linux server attached to the hub. The hub is served by a Caymen DSL modem which has a DHCP server. The modem is assigning to the Linksys AP. I have set up the AP for Automatic configuration DHCP for Internet connection type and assigned as its router IP and enabled DHCP. I think that this should allow the AP to accept from the Caymen modem and to assign IP addresses to clients in the 192.168.10.*** range. The problem is that I can log on to the AP admin pages over both wireless and ethernet links but I can't access the Internet. I have set DNS1 and DNS2 to my ISP's settings. Can anyone help me to work out what I'm doing wrong? Thanks in advance. Sean Bracken

The AP is getting its IP address fromm the Caymen modem over DHCP. This is
I have assigned to the AP and assumed that it will then use it's own DHCP to give addresses out in the range 192.168.10.*** to users accessing the AP. The Caymen modems address is and I thought that this should be the gateway address. I'll try and see what happens. I''m learning how DHCP works at the moment and I'm finding it hard to get my head around it. Lots of trial and error (lol).

No that didn't work. By the way I have a static IP address on the Caymen and I use pinholes to direct traffic to various services on my web server that also gets its IP through DHCP from the Caymen.

Hi, I've made some progress overnight. I can now reach th Internet via the ethernet ports on the Linksys AP, but not through wireless. I can logon to the AP admin pages via wireless and ethernet. I'd really appreciate any advice on what I'm doing wrong. By the way I strted getting access via ethernet after upgrading to pre release 5.
