DHCP only for WiFi clients ?

hello all, i'm new here :)
i have the DD-WRT 23 sp1 firmware, and i need to do so that only the users connecting to the linksys via WiFi obtain an IP from by the linksys DHCP. All other users, on Ethernet, must NOT see nor reach the DHCP. Is there a way to do this ?

basically, i want the DHCP to be ON for wireless clients, and OFF for ethernet ones. Setting all the IPs to manual on the PCs is already done, but this is NOT what i want to do as other PCs must be in dynamic mode and there is already another DHCP on the network. And i don't want wireless clients to access this DHCP either.

I need to isolate WiFi clients so only them have an IP from the linksys DHCP, and not from the other present DHCP.

Also, is there a way of assigning a different IP than the "normal" one to only the wireless part of the linksys ? say x.x.x.x for the ethernet part, and y.y.y.y for the wifi part ?

Many thanks for your help :)

    Hi,

See the Administration/Services menu, the DHCP Server section has what you want !

many thanks for the reply mate. I'm in here, but how does it work?
i don't have the MAC adresses of the wireless clients as they will come and go, these are not always the same PCs that will access the router wirelessly and new ones will arrive everyday !! :s

A tall order! I guess you need to play with VLANs. dd-wrt has some VLAN stuff under Setup, but I don't think you can separate WLAN from LAN - well, not when running the WRT as an AP anyway.

the WRT is not an AP for me, it is the router for everyone ! :)
i just want Ethernet and Wireless to have different subnet's, in fact...

Check out this dd-wrt wiki entry from Nov 2005

    http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Separate_LAN_and_WLAN

points back to a discussion on separating the Wireless LAN from the WIRED lan using VLAN. Not sure about the separate DHCP server, but i would think it would work with a special entry manually entered into the conf files. i have not yet found the discussion referenced in the article, so please post that old thread (if you find it) to this thread.

I follow up the uptodate 4Access DD-WRT wiki on a WRT54GL using v23sp1, it doesn't work for DHCP on the wireless subnet.
    the command:
    dnsmasq -z eth1 -F 10.0.0.100,10.0.0.200 -l /tmp/dnsmasq.wifi.leases
    results in:
dnsmask: failed to bind listening socket for 192.168.100.254: Address already in use

    (192.168.100.254 is the router ip)

    any idea ?
