dhcp question

    how can i set option in tomato which forbids some(or all) clients to set manually their ip addresses? i wanna that so they can use ip only asigned by dhcp. is it possible?

    chomli - there isn't any way to prevent anyone setting their own IP. But presumably you want to know how you can prevent them from using a self-allocated IP address?

    None of the options are very satisfactory. The nearest I can get is to give all PC's which are allowed to access this system a static IP using DHCP. That associates their IP to the MAC address of their wireless card. Then use "access restrictions" to prevent web access to anyone not in the list. There is a way around this of course, if the client used software to change his MAC address to one used by the system, he could still gain access.
