DHCP reservation by MAC address?

Can anybody tell me if RV042 and other products in its class provide the ability to reserve DHCP addresses for certain clients on the basis of the clients' MAC addresses. And how large is the reservation table? I'm trying to upgrade away from an Netgear firewall router which offers this capability but for only 10 client MAC addresses. I'm been going crazy trying to get the answer to this from Linksys documentation.

    Thank you.

Thank you for this valuable insight.

My reason for looking to Linksys is that my old Netgear router would only accommodate 10 MAC addresses in this way. Do you (or does anybody monitoring this thread) know the maximum size of this MAC address table.

According to the help menu, max of 100 of static IP can be input.

Yep. 100 in the latest firmware. 30 in older 1.2.3 firmwares

    Yes

yes it does, and it works well.

It sucks a bit when you first start out getting everything in there. But I about 100 entries on a 255.255.255.0 subnet and it works well. I would imagine it would handle the entire subnet and probably larger ones, but I've never tried.

The only downside, is the list of current dhcp clients. The list displays something like "static DHCP user" instead of their hostname, which in my personal situation, I have found the hostname useful.

Hope that answer's your question, if not, let me know.

    New interface

Did not see the replies b/c I'm not used to the new interface.

According to toxic, I'm almost out of static dhcp clients. Toxic says you can only have 100.

Actually the help page states 100 in the rv042. I did not say the rv016 that you use. if may or maynot have more. though in your sig you only quote 70 clients.

I would guess this is a limitation of the web interface and you may/maynot add more via the cli interface.
