Dhcpinform

    After I reinstalled the operating system (XP Home) on the laptop in logos began to appear messages like:

    What is wrong? How can I solve the problem?

    These can be ignored.

    Whatever computer on your network is 192.168.1.2 is sending your router DHCPINFORM messages. The router is handling these messages and logging receipt of them.

    Your computer sends DHCPInform broadcasts when it is searching for windows updates. If something is wrong with your windows update you will get the DHCPINFORM messages every hour. check your c:\windows\windowsupdate.log file for errors. However since this was a reinstall of the operating system it is probably just doing a bunch of updates.

    Thanks for the answers! Is very strange - automatic update si off on my XP. However, I receive this message only once per session. No problem!

    I solve the mistery - i have eset nod32 v 4 and this is checking for the windows updates when starts.
